I got one of these for Xmas and brought it to my office. I liked it so much we got another one for home! The coffee is very good, and the convenience factor makes up for any issues I have. To save money I make each cup of coffee with one K-Cup used twice -- once on the largest setting and once on the smallest setting. Makes up for not having the largest setting available.

The only real negatives are the noise it makes (not a big problem to me), the cost for K-Cups (look for sales and it'll be cheaper, and it's always cheaper than going to Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks) and the small water reservoir. Other than that I like it a lot for a good cup of coffee and the convenience factor.

Not quite sure what happened here, but I received a coffee maker (a Krupps) for Christmas. Since we couldn't buy pods anywhere, my girlfriend exchanged it for the Keurig B60 Special Edition; we can get k-cups almost everywhere.

I've made about 20 cups of coffee / hot chocolate since I got it. This morning, it stopped working. I have only 1 option for brewing for some reason and that is for the larger cup (the two smaller options won't light up anymore). If I choose to brew the larger cup, it produces about 1/4 of a cup (actual measuring cup) of coffee.

I called their tech support line and they simply asked me to make sure the ejection nozzle (just the bottom of the dispenser) was clean. It is quite clean. They have to now "escalate" this to a higher tech support person.

This is silly. Its 2 weeks old and I've already got a problem? Not good.

I called Keurig support and they inquired about my water source. We live in a rural area and use WELL water (through a whole house water filter) and bottled water (Poland Springs). I explained those two sources of water and was told that #1, I should NEVER use WELL water with the units and #2, I should NEVER use Spring Water with their units. They told me that even bottled Spring Water is not acceptable for their units.

After flushing with over 2 gallons of Vinegar at their request, the unit still did not work. They finally sent me a replacement unit (the B70) which is MUCH quieter and has 4 settings rather than 3. So, from that perspective it seems nicer. I've had it now for 2 days (using FILTERED bottled water only as Keurig support requested) and its working so far.

I purchased the Tassimo machine in December, 2008. I loved it, especially the fact that I could order Starbucks coffee for it. Then, I began to experience a little disappointment, since I was limited in coffee selections. Lots of good coffees, but not many flavored coffees. I love tea, but Tassimo doesn't have that great a selection of teas.

Then, I started reading about the Keurig. Bad move. I began to lust for the Keurig in my heart. I read about all the selection of flavored coffees and teas, and rationalized that I needed both machines. (Okay, we know I don't need both machines.) An unexpected refund from Uncle Sam came in the mail, and I decided that the Keurig was mine. Oh, how I wish I'd bought this unit first.

1. The Keurig comes with 18 samples. The Tassimo comes with a brochure that shows you how to order free samples.

2. The Keurig is so easy to get started - easier than the Tassimo.

3. The Keurig doesn't keep dripping after the coffee is brewed. Unfortunately, the Tassimo does.

4. The Keurig brews wonderful tea - I got the lemon blueberry and it's scrumptuous. Tassimo doesn't have herbal teas.

5. The Tassimo water reservoir has a handle and is easier to carry and fill. The Keurig unit is a pain. I use a pitcher now to fill it.

6. The Keurig is a prettier machine. Cute little blue lights. The Keurig unit is bigger. Tassimo is more compact.

7. The Keurig has to warm for about 3 minutes before the first cup. The Tassimo has an instant on that requires no wait time.

8. The Keurig K-Cups are smaller to store. The Tassimo T-Discs are cumbersome. The Starbucks coffees come in a square cardboard box of four t-disks, with three cardboard packages per package. Lots of packaging.

9. The Keurig unit allows you to choose what size cup you want. The Tassimo reads the bar code of the disc and selects the appropriate cup size. I like to select my own size, so this is a pain. The Tassimo allows you to add more water to the cup, however, which the Keurig does not.

10. The Keurig unit does not come with a water filter. The Tassimo does. However, I have filtered water, so I don't use it.

I have been using the Senseo pod machine for several years and made my own pods by just placing two scoops of ground coffee in a small basket filter and putting it in the large pod holder. It was my husband that wanted something different as the coffee wasn't strong enough for him. We decided to try the Keurig B60. I wasn't keen on having to buy the Kcups which are plastic but because it does have its own Kcup for my own coffee, I agreed to getting it.

I have to admit that the Keurig choice of coffees is awesome as well as very good. The coffee from any pods I've tried was horrible! As my husband likes his coffee strong, he is still experimenting with the various bold ones to find his favorite.

The secret to getting good coffee from the Kcup when you use your own ground coffee, is in the grinding. Either grind the coffee beans as fine as your coffee grinder will go or buy expresso coffee. It's like a powder essentially. Wow, the coffee was so strong on the large setting I couldn't drink it. Of course I don't like my coffee really strong.

Also I like the fact that it's a wonderful hot water dispenser for my own tea bags. I won't pay what Keurig asks for their tea Kcups but I have to admit that their teas are good. A tea bag in my hot water works for me.

One of the things that I like the most is that with the B60, I can now use any of the mugs I have. That was so frustrating with the Senseo. A lot of my mugs were too tall to use in it. The B60 even takes my travel mug which measures 7 inches tall without the lid. To make enough for a large mug, you can do as many ounces as you want by simply opening the lid and closing it again so the numbers flash and start brewing again without changing the Kcup. It might get too weak by putting water through one Kcup more than once but you can do it. With just dispensing water, you can definitely repeat as much as you want by simply opening the lid and closing it again so the numbers flash. I can even fill a teapot if it lines up with the dispenser.

We are pleased with our Keurig B60. Yes, it is relatively expensive but as always, you do get what you pay for. Any good coffee maker is going to cost more. I have the Technivorm Moccamaster for when we want a pot of coffee and it is the best one ever! It took me 25 years to give in to paying the price to get one but I should have done it long ago. For all the coffee makers we've gone through in that time, I could have had one really good one!

The Keurig B60 (I deliberatly measured) delivers an exact if not a smidgen more 6, 8, and 10 oz amount on the various settings. I don't know what the 5.25, 7.25, and 9.25 oz are all about. Now that is with dispensing water. Perhaps after the water goes through the coffee, it does lose a little volume.

We have no complaints so far with the Keurig B60. The price for Kcups on Amazon with auto delivery is the best around. We also like the variety pack we found at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and use the 20% off coupon.

NO CHILD SAFETY MECHANISM: If you have a young child in the house, PLEASE DO NOT put a Keurig machine in your home. I own three different Keurig machines. I enjoy them so much that I gave my daughter and son-in-law a Keurig B60 for Christmas 2008.
About a month after Christmas their two and a half year old had watched them enough times that when no one was in the kitchen he took a chair climbed up, lifted the Keurig handle up and down then started pressing buttons. Well it was only a matter of seconds before scalding hot water was pouring out and splattering on our toddler. I knew I had read somewhere there was a cup sensor that wouldn't allow water to come out if a cup was not present. After calling Keurig and telling them what had happened they informed me that the "Individual Model" was the only one with that feature. THINK ABOUT THAT -it is the only one that doesn't have a water reservoir so this incident can't happen on that model but it has the safety feature. I told Keurig this is a huge liability and I have seriously doubt this would be an isolated case. PLEASE if you have young children don't put this machine in your home, the consequences are not worth it.

I really want to love this machine... but, it took a lot of K-cups (which are not the cheapest) to get almost the right cup. I find that the different size choices are useless. The strength changes with each size. If you want a normal cup of coffee, strength wise, you must choose the smallest selection. The Keurig customer help line told us to buy the Bold coffees and use a smaller setting to get a decent cup of brew. The Keurig B60 beats the Tassimo in all categories. I bought the Keurig for the home and we have a Tassimo at the office. Keurig pros...leave on all the time..it's ready to use, I can find coffee at my local Bed, Bath and Beyond and Target easily, you can use the hot water w/o the inserts for hot cereal, hot tea of my own choosing, oatmeal, etc for the kids...would buy it again almost for that one reason alone.

Cons against Tassimo..hard to find coffee and only one tea option, instructions say to turn it off when not in use, therefore, it takes longer to warm up and get ready, loud, and won't allow you to use hot water w/o a pod.

This coffee maker was given to me as a gift a few weeks before Christmas 08. I am a major coffee drinker and the first thing i noticed about this maker was that the coffee was not very strong. I don't even like my coffee that strong but this coffee was really weak even for me. However, I do enjoy having it with the flavored coffee and have noticed that i will use less if any creamer which saves money and calories. After having this coffee maker for about a month it brewed one day all by itself and then started blinking not ready and never worked again. Thankfully the people at Keurig were very nice and told me that my coffee maker had overheated and are sending me out a new one.

*I have a Tassimo given as a gift a few years ago & it makes coffee comprarable to Starbucks and Flavia. I love the African Kitamu straight up and also love espressos-coffees that are really stong with full body. The fact that the Tassimo has no "my K cup" equivalent bugs me. Thinking of all those plastic cups going to the landfill-ugh. So...excited to get the Keurig thinking I could make my own coffee pods and save the landfills.
*I bought the Keurig Special Edition that came with the 18 variety pack of coffees. I tried all the decafs (watery, lukewarm). The hot chocolate-watery-no flavour.
*Keeping an open mind, I tried the "bold" coffees in the AM as small cups-seperately then combined. Nothing helped. All were watery, bland. The problem seems to be at the end of the brew cycle. I watched it make a tiny 5oz cup-looked strong in the beginning but then dumps brown-coloured water at the end.
*Like making a good cup of coffee then adding a handful of ice on top and letting it melt.
*I may try a French press but for now is back to the Tassimo and back to the store where I bought it.

If you like your coffee stong-this may not be the machine for you. The machine is great, it's the coffee selections that are bad - for starters. The stores that carry the product are few and far between, and they can't get very many varieties of coffee. What's available (green mountain) is worse than sewer water. I've tried to order from my regular store but they tell me that the distributors don't have any other flavors available. Using the alternate attachment for your own coffee is complicated and defeats the purpose of a simple and fast coffee machine.
I ordered samples from Keurig over the phone - it took more than 40 minutes to order these - please note that I am paying for these samples - a confirmation email indicated that he sent many incorrect items,omitted many others I ordered, and sent them to the wrong address. I called back and spoke with another representative - 30 minutes more to rehash the whole order - only to learn that she has no authority to do anything about anything - not even to correct my address with the ups shipment - so I ask...why is she even on the phone????

Customer service called me the following monday - what's this about 24/7 customer service?? It is False Advertising! That lady wanted me to go over everything in the previous conversations - Didn't the second person at "Customer Service" take notes? I didn't have the time to spend and just told her if she was an official customer service rep she would know the proper thing to do to provide a good customer experience for me.
Obviously she did not - someone down the street brought over the ups package a week later with all the wrong/missing samples for which I paid $20 plus $8 shipping, plus more than 75 minutes of my time. I absolutely LOVE my Keurig! I actually started with the Senseo that we got just before the holidays. But, it stopped working correctly after just 4 days. So, I returned it. Over the holidays, my folks got a Keurig and I got to try it out. It was so much easier, cleaner, and made a better tasting cup coffee, that instead of getting another Senseo, I got this Keurig instead. I'm so glad I did. There are tons of coffee/tea/hot cocoa options that you can either buy online at the Keurig site, or at BB&B (not as many options there though). I got this size, rather than the smaller or larger options because of the 3 different size cups, which help with the different strengths of coffees, and the digital face. I also love that it has a descale indicator so you know when to clean it out. If you don't use the Senseo for 3 days, you have to prime the whole thing all over again.
