Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System Review

I really like this machine. I have a habit of making a cup of coffee and leaving everything until a few days later. Unfortunately, this creates a nasty mess for me to clean up and in some cases nice variety of mold and fungus - YUCK! Keurig has created the perfect solution for lazy people like me who hate cleaning up coffee grounds, filters and washing the pot! My only complaint - and it is very minor, is this thing is a tad noisy when it heats the water.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Every morning I look forward to a good cup of coffee. Since I bought the reconditioned Keurig B60 I get a great cup of coffee but one which is served by a neurotic old friend.. I often wonder if this morning the brewing temperature will change from 192 to 112 degrees or if the digital time will be true or five hours earlier or if I choose a small cup my old friend serves me an overflowing large cup. If I exchange this coffee maker for one that has no flaws I will not be happy because I would miss all those digital quirks in the mornings. I just got the B60 a couple days ago. So far I love it. I got it at BJ's for $129. with 88 K-Cups, not a bad deal. I like that you can program it to turn on in the morning, so after my shower it's all ready to brew my cup of coffee. My only complaint is that now I'm drinking more coffee than I used to ;-)Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

I was sent the wrong coffee machine. I had no luck when trying to contact the seller to try and fix this problem. I sent two e-mails and called many times. I was very disappointed in my experince with this sell but have had many positive ones when dealing with most amazon sellers. I was at Bed, Bath & Beyond researching these coffee machines to replace my Starbucks Barista one cup/mug coffee maker (that thing makes a mess!). Anyway, there was someone demonstrating the Keurig. She showed me how it worked and made me a cup of coffee. I chose one of those non-popular brands (pumpkin spice), took a sip and wanted to throw it up. It tasted like cheap, truck-stop coffee!

Next to her display area was the Tassimo by Bosch (the newer model). I've already done my homework on this machine and knew that it was the better of the two. Tassimo makes great coffee and more popular brands unlike what Keurig has to offer. I also think that the K pods are clunky with way too much plastic for our landfills. Tassimo made more sense to me. I also like the fact that the Tassimo has a built-in water filter system that tells you when you're low in water. Keurig doesn't have that. All they have is over 130 unpopular coffee brands. Bosch did a great job with their Research & Development (R&D) to re-create this machine. The Braun version of this machine had a lot of problems but Bosch corrected them with this new machine. So, go out and get yourself a Tassimo and don't get the Keurig.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System Decide Now

This was my Christmas gift last year. I am the only one who drinks coffee at my house, and usually just 2 cups a day. I love flavored coffees. I used to use a small 4 cup with cone shaped filters and I was so tired of having coffee grounds in my coffee every morning, so Santa bought this one. I love it. Simple to use, works fast and I can switch out flavors easily. I buy my coffee thru Amazon subscription so I don't have to worry about trying to find the cups at the stores.

I have noticed that it seems louder than it was when I first got it, but that doesn't bother me. It's only for a minute. The only thing I don't like is that the water container seems small. I wish it was bigger so I didn't have to refill as often.

They sell a K-cup that you can reuse over and over again with your own coffee rather than buying their cups. I have it, I wasn't impressed with it. It's hard to get the grounds out of it when you want to brew another cup. It seems like you have to clean it after every single use. I buy the cups and save myself some aggravation.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System Right now

This is a totally new way for us to make coffee. We used to a Krups 12-cup auto-maker and have used that for years. But as our coffee drinking has slowed, we started looking at options and found one after a weekend trip at a friend's home. They had a Keurig on their counter and we thoroughly enjoyed the variety of flavors available as well as the ease of use.
So we bought a B60 model and absolutely love it! A good value product.
We have groups of people over for evenings and they like it as well. We use the Krups for decafe and the Keurig for regular since there are less people that want high test coffee after dinner these days.
Simple to use and to clean-up, plus we can offer multiple choices of coffee for every taste, any time.
We have bought two of the reusable coffee filter units that insert into the Keurig Brewer because the k-cup coffees are expensive by comparison. That way we can get our coffee made in the brewer since it isn't available in the k-cup system as yet. Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

This is a great machine for coffee drinkers. I'm sure by the time you read this review, you've already read countless other reviews telling you that, and are pretty much set on getting it as long as the price is right. However, what other reviews might not tell you, is that this is also a great machine for tea drinkers as well.

I'm the only coffee drinker in my household. For me, the single serve system makes great sense as it's usually overkill for me to brew a whole pot just for myself. The nice thing with the Keurig system though, is that there are a wide varieties of other pods available too. My girlfriend is a casual tea drinker (and by that I mean she enjoys a cup of tea...but is by no means a snob about it), and there are plenty of teas for her to choose from. And now that Winter has started to set in, hot chocolate is fast becoming a staple evening ritual over here. And in regards to hot chocolate, neither of us cared much for the hot chocolate pods that we've tried so far, but it's quite simple (and inexpensive) to use regular powder mix from the supermarket and just use the Keurig to provide us with instant hot water for it.

As far as the pros and cons of the machine go:

Pros:
- Wide variety of coffee to choose from
- Wide variety of tea to choose from
- Instant hot water for hot chocolate, cooking, soups, etc.
- Very aesthetically pleasing. Easily the best looking small appliance in our kitchen
- Pretty good sized water reservoir. It's not as large as the B70s, but it's still not that bad.
- Extremely simple to use. The hardest parts for us are still deciding which variety pod to try next and restraining ourselves from drinking more coffee or tea than is good for us.
- Availability of pods not only online, but at retail stores as well. At first I was afraid that I would be limited to buying all my pods from Amazon. And while I do love Amazon and their prices are pretty much always the best, sometimes when you need a quick fix, you really don't want to wait for shipping (even if you're a Prime member). So far, I've found good stockpiles and good varieties at Kohl, Wegman's Supermarkets, and Bed, Bath,& Beyond. Not only is this convenient, but it sometimes leads to that impulse buy that you can immediately reap the benefits from (as soon as you get home). So far one of my favorite varieties was an impulse buy that I just happened to come across while grocery shopping.

Cons
- The "Travel mug-size" isn't exactly enough for our travel mugs. This is one benefit that the B70 model has over this model by having the "Extra-large travel mug-size" as well. While it's true that the coffee may be "watered-down" a bit and not as strong if using the larger brew size option, frankly, if I'm on the go and won't be able to immediately make another cup, I'd rather have weaker coffee than less coffee.
- It does make a bit of noise in between brews. It's not a problem for us, but it might be if there's a light sleeper in the house, and they happen to be sleeping in relatively close proximity to the kitchen.

Overall, we couldn't be happier. Our B60 is used multiple times, all throughout the day and was definitely worth every penny to us. And remember, not all coffee is created equal. I'm still going through the variety packs to settle on which I like best, and there are some that I really did not care for (I won't name which ones because we all have our own tastes). If you don't like the first k-cup you try, chances are it's not because of the machine. You just need to try a different one. With the variety available, I do believe there really is something for everyone with the Keurig system. Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Low Price Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System

As someone who researches a product extensively before purchase, I thought I had found a winner in the Keurig B60 Special Edition brewing system. And honestly, there IS a lot to like about it. No grinding or measuring of coffee is a HUGE plus. There are lots of different brands of K-Cups out there to choose from, so the coffee choice is not limited, which was one of my fears when I purchased this brewer. On top of that, being able to brew one cup at a time at a preferred size setting is incredibly convenient.

However, there are enough negatives about this coffee maker that I just can't recommend it. First, the coffee is weak, even on the smallest size setting. It's not bitter, which is good, but most of the K-Cups produce a less-than-flavorful blend. Regular coffee, flavored coffee, decaf coffee -- I tried it all with the same results. In desperation (because I am actually a light-to-medium roast fan), I tried the Extra Bold K-Cups that are out there with MUCH better results, but there aren't too many varieties of Extra Bold to choose from at this time. So I ended up with a limited coffee choice after all.

The other issue I had with this brewer is that about six months after I purchased it, the display would say "ready to brew," but when I pushed the button, nothing happened for a few minutes. Then it did brew -- the entire contents of the reservoir! I had a huge mess all over my kitchen. I called Keurig to get support and was told that 1) I probably needed to descale (run vinegar through it for a full cleaning); and 2) to unplug it for a few hours to let it "reset."

I did both of these things, and lo and behold, the coffee maker worked like new again -- for about three weeks. Then it was back to its old tricks. At Keurig's suggestion, I kept descaling and unplugging until one day, about a year and a half after purchase, it started brewing and spitting water and steam out the top, and nothing I could do would get it to stop. Of course, this was after the warranty period had expired!

I will admit that it's entirely possible I got a lemon. I know and fully accept that this happens sometimes with electronic devices. With all the other folks on here raving about this exact coffee maker, I wonder if I just got a bad one. Or maybe I didn't descale enough in the first six months that I had it and that caused some kind of problem.

Still, I have heard and read similar comments about the weakness of the brew these coffee makers produce. And it would have been nice if Keurig customer service had seen fit to replace my coffee maker within the warranty period rather than simply telling me to descale and unplug.

The Keurig brewers are expensive, and so I expected something very solid and exceptional. Unfortunately, I think my old Hamilton Beach Brewstation did a better job at half the price. I see why people like these Keurig brewers, and maybe someday I'll try one again to see if they've been improved. But for now, I think I'll replace this brewer with something completely different.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Save Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System

I've owned three of these brewers and a few friends also own one. Here's my humble opinion after several years of use:
1. I wish the Kcups were a bit larger so I could make stronger coffee at the larger size. To get around it, I bought the cup that let's me fill with my own coffee. I grind it fine and can get a pretty strong cup- even at 15 ozs.
2. Most people that use the brewer punch the medium followed by the small fill size to make a 15oz. cup. Most seem to like the flavor, but I think it's a bit weak. See point #1.
3. MOST IMPORTANT: Every Keurig coffee maker that I own has failed. Even every one of my friends have all had their's fail. This seems very abnormal- even when we've bought ours years apart (it's not just a bad batch). I've owned these brewers since early 2000 and I just bought another replacement with the same issue. I've had 3 different models- the most recent was a B60. Now I'm trying the Platinum. The problem appears to be with some sort of sensor that fills the cup which seems to wear out quickly. The problem starts: either it only fills half way (compared to what it should do) or it just does not fill at all when pressing the flashing fill button.
to Keurig's defense- they replace it with no questions AS LONG AS IT's UNDER the 1 yr WARRANTY. I buy all my coffee from Keurig and they did not give me a break. I spend approx $75 every three months. That is a bit disappointing.
When I spoke with customer service on my last brewer- they told to expect 3 yrs from the maker. I find this a bit of a problem for a coffee maker that costs $150 (B60 and 70). why do I keep buying it? Because I have all this coffee that will go to waste and when it works- I like it.
4. I use the brewer at home in my home-based business and everyone that uses it- ends up buying one. But, we've ALL had problems with the brewer.

If it was more reliable, I would rate it a 5, but I'm rating it a 2 because of reliability issues.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Best gift I *ever* received. I have used my Keurig for almost a year now on a daily basis, and I love it. I have tried Tassimo, and owned the Senseo, and neither of them compare to the quality of the coffee, the simplicity of the system, or the sheer pleasure you get from the Keurig. I like my coffee with cream (and occasionally with sugar) but can drink it black from the Keurig as well, since it's just really good coffee. My favorite K-Cups are Newman's Special Bold, Newman's Decaf, and Caribou Colombian. I like the more dense flavors of coffee in general, but also enjoyed the "Donut Shop" blend and have had the other Caribou and Gloria Jean's flavors as well and enjoyed them too. Yes, the coffee can be a little expensive when you break it down by the cost per cup, compared to other home coffee makers. That said, if you shop around for deals or buy in quantity, you can get Keurig coffee for 25 cents to 50 cents a cup in the flavors and blends you like. (Right now, for example, the Obama or McCain blends which are the "Donut Shop" k-cups, just repackaged, are $8.00 a box of 24, which comes to 33 cents a cup, and they qualify for free Amazon super saver shipping.

As for the Keurig unit itself, it is SO easy. I fill it with water every other day or so, but there is virtually NO cleanup or maintenance necessary. My wife doesn't drink coffee, so I used to waste a lot, and I hated making a pot and then having to clean up the grounds and filter, or clean out the glass pot or metal carafe. I used to use a Krups coffee maker with a thermal carafe that made great coffee, but I have not been disappointed in the slightest with the Keurig's quality of coffee. Plus, there is something cool about having friends over and asking them if they want a cup of coffee, and then making one specific to their preferences, brewed in less than a minute at 192 degrees. Even better, this Thanksgiving we had people over and three wanted regular coffee, two wanted decaf, and one asked if we had any hazelnut coffee. Not a problem for any of them!

If you want good coffee, and a fast way to make a single cup, the Keurig will serve you well. I definitely consider it my favorite home appliance, and I even take it on weekend golf getaways so that I am not without my Keurig in the morning!Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

I liked this machine-- had it over a year and then it stoped working-- lot of money to just huck in the trash. Also you cant adjust for the size of your coffee mug. Buying Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System

First impression is that I'm really digging it. The selling point for me was retaining the ability to use any ground coffee in this machine. They sell an accessory filter that you fill with two tablespoons of your favorite ground coffee and it brews a perfect cup.

The wife had a cup of hot chocolate immediately afterwards and said it tasted great. My travel mug holds 16 ounces of caffeine bliss. The Keurig has three cup size settings and I can fill my travel mug with two button presses. The clearance under the fill spout is 7.25 inches, so it should fit nearly any size mug out there.

The three mug sizes are 5.25oz, 7.25oz and 9.25oz. Using only one K-cup inserted, I press the 9.25oz followed by the 5.25oz size for a near-perfect fill and brew strength in my travel mug.

The 48oz water reservoir on the side is a great feature, as the Keurig keeps water hot and ready all the time if you choose that option. It literally takes about 30 seconds to make a full cup of coffee.

For those discerning (wierd) people that don't drink coffee, it brews a perfect cup of hot tea, or hot cocoa with zero mess.

The only nitpick I have with it is the pump sound when it refills the heater reservoir w/ water. It's a little loud and vibrates some, but it does not last for long. Well worth the money paid for what we wanted.

Each K-cup costs about .50 cents if bought online. The special pod for using regular grounds was $14.99, but it will pay for itself by using any coffee I choose. Now, if Starbucks would just start making K-cups, I'd be set!Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

We love this coffee/espresso one-cup master! The only thing that sucks is that much of machine is made from wack plastic - the kind that leaches crap into your water. We make sure that we don't let water sit in the plastic water reservoir - empty it out each time.

Also, EVIL are the producers of the plastic one-time-use deals that you can buy in ridiculous bulk. Instead, BUY YOUR OWN BEANS (we get ours at Trader Joe's), grind em and get a reusable gold filter at Bed Bath and Beyond or Walmart, to name two retailers. Purchase Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System

We got this cool coffee maker for our small 2-person office & we thought it was a great choice because no one likes to make coffee, drink coffee that has sat on a warmer/burner for awhile or wash coffee pots. After 1 year & 1 month our review is:

1) We only seem to use the coffee cup button, and have only used the travel mug button twice in 1 year;
2) The K-cup pricing is varied but we have found K-cups reasonably cheap through mail order and discount pricing;
3) The brewer sensor is going wacky. Sometimes it works, sometimes it sits on "brewing" for awhile & then spits out a dab of water with the next round overflowing the cup. Sometimes it works like it is suppose to.

Is it worth it? I expected the machine to last for more than 1 year without bugs especially considering that our use is more like residential use than office use (3-4 cups/day). I am disappointed.

I thought about buying a Keurig for my home use, but with the office one acting up, I opted to purchase a regular, cheaper coffee maker instead.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Where To Buy Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System

I have been very familiar with single cup coffee makers. I travel all over Europe (Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain) for business and have had wonderful cups of coffee. I have also noticed in business meetings, alot of single cup coffee makers outside of meeting rooms. Most of these are very expensive brands and are more than I want to spend on a hot cup of Joe. The Keurig is a great alternative and you cannot beat the price for what you get. I have had the B60 for two weeks now and cannot imagine waking up in the morning without it. I am the only coffee drinker in the house, and like many others, do not want to make a full pot of coffee only to watch it go to waste. I was skeptical at first after reading many reviews about the noise. I can tell you after seeing and hearing many gourmet single cup coffee makers, this nothing more than a 4-5 second pump sound similar to a fish tank pump. The Keurig did not vibrate all over the table like an old cheap pager. I did not even put a mouse pad under it as suggested by other reviewers. I am not sure what they are seeing, but the vibration/pump sound is minimal and brief. I recommend this product highly....will update if I have any future problems. BTW...Timothy's columbian coffee is delicious and the Green Mountain Hot Cocoa is a bit watery.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System

I am really enjoying this product. I use it for simple cups of hot water for tea as well as a good cup of gourmet coffee. I find that the largest cup is too strong for my taste therefore I run it thru the large then reset it to run thru the small (thru the same k-cup) to create a larger cup of coffee. That's perfect strength and flavor. Also, to save money, I've purchased the My K-Cup reusable coffee filter and it works GREAT and I am not forced to spend a ton of money on their expensive k-cups.

Great investment!!!

Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System Review

I love the versatility of this product, the variety of the coffee and the ease of use. I like coffee very strong and while the normal cups are not, the extra bold (Green Mountain Dark Magic, in particular) cups make a great medium size cup. As with any pre-measured coffee, the more coffee you make from the portion (k-cup, in this case), the less strong it will be. If you want to keep the brew strength the same, you need more coffee - so if you are making a double size travel mug, use 2 k-cups. (This is no different from making coffee with a regular coffee maker - if you want stronger coffee or if you want more quantity at the same strength, you use more coffee).

As for the noise, the machine hums for about 20 seconds after making a cup of coffee, as it pumps water from the reservoir into the heating chamber. I found that it is somewhat loud (but not unbearably so, by any stretch) when the removable cup holding plate vibrates against the machine as the pump is going. There are two ways to significantly limit this vibration noise - you can simply move the plate away from the machine a bit, or you can do as I did, which was to stick some small rubber or foam pieces (such as a small strip of adhesive-backed foam shelf liner) on the side of the plate that normally comes into contact with the machine. This made a huge difference in reducing the noise and I can now classify the machine as relatively quiet.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System Top Quality

...that's not always a bad thing. I used to make my coffee too strong, and that much caffeine isn't good for anyone. Some claim the coffee is weak, but after drinking it for a few weeks, I prefer it to the sludge I used to make. Also, because of the novelty of it, I find I'm using it more often and not stopping at Starbucks as often. The only downsides are that I can't use the used grounds for landscaping anymore and the reusable filter is hard to clean by hand (cleans great in the dishwasher, but I only have a full load every few days).

On a side note, I purchased this for $129.99, and it came with 90 K-cups, not just 18, and the reusable filter. Great deal.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System This instant

My wife bought me the Keurig Ultimate B66 Gourmet brewing system for early Christmas gift. I did not expect to get one as money is tight. But I am glad she got it for me as I've been a coffee/tea addict for many years. I've been spying these "Single Cup" systems for months because I am the type that usually can never finish more than 1 mug of joe at a time. I hate to waste and I also love to sample many different flavors. My wife has never been coffee drinker so a "Single Cup" setup is perfect for us. I looked at the Tassimo and some other systems but wasn't sure on any of them. Getting the Keurig was definitely a surprise and the last week that I've been using it, I've been enjoying almost every cup of the Sample pack that came with it.

It is a rather neat system. Every K-Cup has enough product for 1 cup. My main concern is One man's Cup is another Man's Shot Glass. When I would make coffee or tea I tend to make a larger portion. The Small Teacup setting on the Keurig is barely enough for more than a Taste. The other two settings produce a little more but not much. It's not easy to make more than the one of 3 sizes of brew from 1 K-cup. Primarily because each K-Cup is designed specifically for no more than 1 use. On that end I wish there were was a larger brew setting and some K-cups had more product.

I found out later that the next up larger end model has 4 brew settings, and does allow for larger portion of brew up to 12oz. And I also found out there are some K-Cups the "Extra Bold" apparently contain 30% more product than the standard K-Cups. So Its mostly a matter of buying the K-Cups that are the "extra" variety which contain 30% more product and can deliver more brew per session.

The model I have suites me fine though. It came with 3, 18packs. I thought it was a major plenty but to be honest I've been smapling a lot more than I normally would I guess ha ha ha. The Variety Pack has a good mix of Coffees and 3 different Teas and 1 hot cocoa.

On that Note, Hot Cocoa, in my opinion is Not meant for the Keurig. The Ghiradelli Hot Cocoa does not brew up very well and Did not taste all that great to me. Also the 3 or 4 different kinds of Hot Cocoa that Keurig offers is not varying enough for my tastes. The Keurig however Does an Excellent job with Coffee and Tea.

My bundle came with the "My K-Cup" Accessory. Its normally a $14 add on and let me tell you it is an Awesome Add on to use. Essentially it allows you to USE any Loose Ground Coffee or Tea that you have with your Keurig. Thats a Good Fact to know because when you start to add prices up the K-Cups can get to be expensive. 1 K-Cup is essentially 1 serving. Sometimes when you find a Flavor you love you want to be able to get more of it. Unless you Order them Online and pay obscene Shipping costs, you are not going to find all the K-Cup flavors that you like. Local Stores like Target, Macy's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Costco and even Best Buy sometimes only carry a few K-Cup boxes. So having the "My K-Cup" I can put some of my favorite ground coffee or loose tea and save some money when I can't stock up on K-cups.

Lastly, something most people might not realize, the better the water the better the brew. I've found using filtered water tastes the best. Straight Tap water sometimes makes some flavors a bit odd.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System Best Quality

In the beginning, there was Cuisanart. I used to make a killer cup of coffee in the mornings, but what a chore! Grinding the beans (they did smell good though) then using the paper filter and measuring out just the right amount, brewing, cleaning all of the components after every pot, and there's always wasted coffee left over in the pot. It's hard to spend the first 10-15 minutes in morning "zombie-mode" making coffee. Of course I could have prepped it all ahead of time the prior evening but I'm usually too tired to remember before bed. Anyway .... My mother recently got a Tassimo which uses coffee pods. What convenience, I thought. Being the coffee connoisseur that I am, I tried it just to compare. I was surprised that the Gevalia Espresso really is a pretty good brew, and so simple to make! So I came home and did my online research. Turned out that the Keurig ranked higher; quieter, more versatile, more coffee blends available, so I purchased one. Although I would agree that it is in fact quieter than the Tassimo, and it is simple to use and convenient, I reluctantly have to say that it doesn't make a great cup of coffee. To date, I have spent a small fortune trying blend after blend (buying boxes of coffee K-cups at a time) only to taste a mediocre flavor at best. By the way, as a Starbuck's addict, Keurig does not make a Starbuck's K-cup, or a Gevalia for that matter, and the adapter you can purchase separately still doesn't accommodate Tassimo's "pods". You can however, use their included filter basket and measure out your own ground coffee but then you're back to the same time and inconvenience as before. The closest I've come to a decent cup of coffee in a K-cup would be Timothy's Rainforest Bold. So now, as I sit here drinking my mediocre cup of morning coffee, with a cupboard filled with K-cups of other mediocre coffees, the reality hit me! Life is too short for mediocrity! One of my simple pleasures was a really good cup of freshly brewed coffee in the morning, filling my house with that wonderful aroma saying to me "Wake up! It's a beautiful day!" [pulling the Cuisanart back out of the cupboard] Sometimes things take a little more time to achieve perfection but in the end, it's worth it!

Keurig Rating:
Ease of Use = 10
Quality of Coffee = 2
Going back to the conventional method for that wonderful aroma and taste that you can get only from a slow-brewed, pot of freshly-ground coffee = priceless!

With perspective in place, this Keurig single-cup brewer earns it weight.

Consider quickly what this is: a small office or home single-cup coffee maker. Consider then what it is not: a replacement for a state-of-the-art espresso maker.

I use, thanks to my employer's choice, K-cups from Caribou Coffee, a coffeehouse chain. The brewer pierces a hole on the top and bottom, and pushes hot water through. It is much like any drip coffee maker. K-cups can be purchased through other coffee vendors, and reusable K-cups are available as well.

With the K-cups, each cup is exactly the same. The flavor becomes predictable, but that is resolved easily with a trip to an offsite shop for a cappuccino.

Per cup, this is expensive. The quality is fine, as is convenience. If you want to save a buck, buy a coffee press. If speed is your game, start here.

This machine is really amazing. This thing is to coffee addicts like a IV drip would be to heroin junkies. The machine makes brewing a cup of coffee so easy that I really hate to think about going back to the days when I didn't have it. I suppose the only problem is that the money I spend on coffee has also increased dramatically. Part of that is because of the increased intake and part of that is because the K-cups are a lot more expensive per cup of coffee than your traditional brewing methods.

The process is very easy, and very versatile. Basically you pick out whichever flavor you want, pop in the K-cup, choose how much you want and come back in a couple minutes. No mess to clean up, disposal of the K-cup is a matter of pulling it out of the holder and tossing it.

I've had it for a few weeks now and have tried a lot of different flavors and varieties of tea and coffee. The best thing about this system is that one minute you might want an extra bold brew and the next minute you want a breakfast blend decaf. You can go from hot chocolate to chai tea in seconds with no issues.

I started on the small serving drinking that after I read a lot of reviews which said that the brews were weak. I haven't found that to be the case and while it's a matter of opinion, I've been drinking the largest serving for every kind of variety from extra bold to the breakfast blend and tea.

I think another advantage to the K-cup is that the coffee is a lot fresher when it makes it to the cup than your traditional ground coffee. I haven't had a cup of coffee from this thing that didn't taste fresh. I guess that's going to depend more on where you buy your coffee and less on this machine but my point is that it's not hard to get a fresh cup of coffee from this machine.

Anyway, if you're looking for an easy and versatile cup of coffee I would definitely recommend the Keurig B60. This thing is excellent.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

This is a WONDERFUL machine! We are huge coffee drinkers at my house. My husband was in the Army for 23 years and love a good strong cup of coffee. He is not easily impressed by new machines. I was stunned and amazed that after only 2 cups of the Keurig coffee brewer coffee, he has now suggested taking the old coffee maker out of the kitchen all together! This is the best price around. I did a lot of online research and you get the biggest bang for your buck here on QVC. I have three children (9 -13) who love to use this machine. The noise related to the brewing is so short that it has been no problem at all. I live in MI so I did let the machine come to room temperature before I started it up and it worked just fine. My sister lives here also and didn't wait for her machine to come to room temperature. She did have an issue with it not programming correctly, but she called the Keurig toll-free # and they had it reprogrammed and up working for her within a matter of minutes. She is more than impressed with her machine also. If you are stopping only a couple of times a week for a cup of coffee shop coffee, you will recover you money and then some from the purchase of this brewer when you brew your commuter cup at home in the morning. Get it...you will be glad you did! Enjoy!!Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

We really enjoy our Keurig Brewing system, however, when it's heating up, it can be quite loud! We enjoy the variety of the different pods that you can get with it but unless you search for the best price, your cup of coffee can cost about 55 cents per cup! Each pod can only be used once. Amazon does have great prices for the pods! Also, the hot chocolate is not that great on the 9 oz setting.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

I love this coffee maker! It is so fast and easy to use. There is also a huge variety of k-cups to choose from. I have noticed you get more k-cups and cheaper prices if you buy them from Amazon. Yeah this coffee maker is more expensive then a drip coffee maker but you will save in the long run by not throwing out coffee, plus you will always have a hot fresh cup of coffee! I wish this model had a water filter built in but I use the Pur faucet water filter and that works great, alot cheaper then using bottled water and you get the same results. Cheap Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System

First of all, I bought this for my wife, for she is the only one in the house that likes coffee. But, she rarely gets to relax with a good cup of coffee because she is a stay at home mom with our two boys.

To make a cup of coffee, she must make a pot for herself, and hope that when its done brewing, she will be able to enjoy it. More often than not, the coffee ends up being cold, and the rest of the pot needs to be thrown out.

I looked at the pod coffee systems, and decided on the Keurig B60. I purchased it on December 23, knowing that it would arrive after Christmas. I had the opportunity to pay for express shipping that would have it arrive on the 26th. I decided against it, and went with the standard, free, shipping.

The time of the order on December 23, was at 2:30pm. Well, the box was sitting at our front door at 12:30pm on December 24. AMAZING! Less than twenty four hours after I ordered, the product was at our house, and better yet, IN TIME for Christmas.

My wife LOVES this coffee maker. It is so easy to make coffee, and there is no clean up. She is now making her way through the variety pack figuring out which one she likes the best.

I truly believe that this is the best gift I could have given to her. She will now be able to get a great cup of coffee within seconds of her deciding she would like a cup. She says that this is the best coffee she has ever made.

Great Product, Great Shipping. Thanks Amazon.com!Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Buying Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System

I'm not a fan. Its a cute toy, but I'll take regular brewed. I like large, multiple cups of coffee in the morning. The Keurig, while remaining "on demand" needs new pods for every cup, which cost more $$$. The "large" size is my idea of a normal cup size, not "large". Using the "large" size setting gives me a watery tasting cup no matter if I use a dark roast or not.

Sorry not for me.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

I purchased my B60 a few weeks ago and have nothing but good things to say about it. The cofee's good, lots of variety, fun to use and so far has worked very well. I'd strongly recommend purchasing the My K cup and the pod holster (if you use pods) They both work very well and can save you money and add to the variety. Also I appreciate the Amazon price (although it does seem to change often)and quick shipping.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

The B60 is perfect and no need to go for the more expensive models in my opinion. The tall size setting fills my travel mug with room for cream without compromising the flavor. only gripe is my travel mug does not quite fit under the spout so I either have to use a separate cup to brew or hold it under tilted while it brews, but big deal because it is sooooo quick. A very nice gentleman led me to Costco while I was looking at all the machines and they have a very nice bundle of the B-60, brew your own coffee filter and extra bundle of k-cups...for only $130. This machine is great. I bought it for my boyfriend for Christmas. Go to Linens N Things--I got it for $75.00!!! The machine looks cool, seems durable, brews coffee amazingly fast, and requires virtually no clean up. I am a tea drinker and use teabags. So I also use the machine for instant piping hot water. My only complaint is the coffee. If you like really strong coffee, the K cups aren't gonna do it for ya. Even if we brew an Extra Bold cup in 6 oz of water, it still tastes watery to us. I'm thinking about trying out the reusable filter.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Where To Buy Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System

Pros: Coffee Quality, ease of use, great choices in k-cups (coffee, tea, hot chocolate), many features (including brew temp), heats water quickly.

Cons: Noise is a bit loud, not terrible, but noticeable. It is a bit large, but fit just fine where my old coffee maker sat.

Great single cup coffee maker. I purchased from a local warehouse store...contained some extra k-cups, including the "my k-cup". I've tried about 5 different types so far, only one I didn't care for. The others have been perfect. Also tried a couple teas and hot coco, yummy stuff. Also used this to fill my cast iron teapot with hot water, so easy. I haven't tried the "my k-cup" yet, looks like it will work fine.

Only problem so far was hot chocolate getting cold, and setting up inside the release holes. I went to brew some coffee the next morning, only one of the four holes were flowing. The brew shut down, started blinking only on the large cup. I took the k-cup out, put a large cup in, hit the large cup button, it did a water wash that took care of the problem. Smart little device. According to the manual, it also knows when to DeScale itself...and a message pops up, upon which you are supposed to process with vinegar.

Also bought the carousel, perfect.Keurig 5060 27-Cup-Capacity K-Cup Spinning Carousel, ChromeGet more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Do yourself a favor; If you absolutely must have a single serving coffee machine like my wife. Spring for the one above this one. This one makes a loud pumping/vibrating sound while feeding water into the heating tank. The one above this one reportedly doesn't. Also the next step up offers a larger travel cup size (4 sizes total). For some reason, Keurig believes we're not addicted to our coffee, and we drink out of tea cups.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System Review

I just got one of these machines for Christmas and it is AWESOME! I should say that I am NOT a coffee lover, but purchased this for its wide variety of available teas and cocoas for myself, and to be able to brew coffee quickly for my coffee-drinking guests. Since I know nothing about coffee, I wanted a no-nonsense machine that does all the work for me and produces a great-tasting cup of coffee that I'd be proud to offer to guests. And the Keurig delivers!

Everything about this machine is simple, from the one-time setup process to running a cleansing brew (water-only). Filling up the water reservoir and inserting/removing K-cups is a breeze.

The coffee-making process goes something like this:

1) Insert K-cup
2) Push a button

That's it! In less than 30 seconds you'll have a piping hot coffee in your cup. I am amazed at how fast this machine works. At first I was skeptical that the coffee might not taste that great since it's brewed so quickly, but after brewing multiple test cups and offering them up to my guests, I'm convinced Keurig has this whole single serving coffee thing down to a science.

Perfect for coffee-hating idiots like me!Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System This instant

The B60 was a Christmas gift to my husband and I from my Dad. We have used an 'old fashioned' coffee maker for many years, but were excited to receive this as a gift b/c we would never spend that kind of money for a coffee maker and my Dad loves his.

We got it home, hooked it up and it works great, BUT I enjoy/need multiple cups of coffee through out my day. (I'm a stay-at-home Mom) My husband thinks it's 'neat' which it is, but I think it's wasteful and a hassle.

I also have a problem with the amount of coffee/tea/water, it gives you. I think the cup sizes are not enough, which in turn causes you to buy more pods. I also enjoy drinking tea in the evenings. I have tried the Celestial Seasoning's pods and do not enjoy them.

This might be good for the 'one cupper,' but not the avid coffee drinker. Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System Immediately

Tired of cleaning out the coffee pot and grinds? Tired of waiting 10-15 minutes for the coffee to brew? How about your guests ... are they tired of waiting or tired of being forced to conform to one brand/flavor of coffee? Then this is the answer.

SIMPLICITY

You literally pop in your k-cup, close the top and hit a button. Within 30-60 seconds your coffee is brewed and ready. Choose between 6, 8 and 10 ounce sizes. The only effort required from you aside from the button press and k-cup selection is to keep the water container filled, which couldn't be any easier with two options: open the lid and pour water in, or take the entire water tank with you to the tap.

NO MESS

If you are like me, you grow weary of cleaning our your coffee pot, filter tray and grinder. The Keurig machine gets rid of that part of the process. All brewing and filtering is self-contained within the k-cup and so all you do is toss the k-cup when you are done. As for as cleanliness goes, this is fantastic because other people aren't putting their hands all over your filter, grins or coffee pot.

GUESTS

Guests absolutely love this machine. You can offer them a variety of coffees or teas to choose from. Finally, you can allow your guests to have coffee whenever they feel like it (upon arrival, during a meal or after dessert) without having to go through the hassle of brewing a pot for everyone. Guests love picking out a brand/flavor. Some people like that "Jet Fuel" bold, other people like the decaf or flavored coffee. It's actually entertaining as well for the guests - some of them will try it just for the novelty of it.

DRAWBACKS

There are a few drawbacks, although none of them are major issues in my book.

First, using k-cups is a bit more expensive. This is the case with any single-serve type product, especially products designed for speed or convenience. Anyone buying this machine is probably willing to pay more for each cup of coffee. On the bright side, you aren't dumping out half a pot of coffee all the time or drinking old coffee.

Second, k-cups are not great for the environment because they are made from plastics and disposed of - one for each cup you make. Compared to regular coffee machines that simply use paper filters, this is a downside. I still find it worth my time and I would like to continue to press Keurig and other manufacturers to come up with a better environmentally-safe solution. Until then, this is the way to fly for me.Get more detail about Keurig B60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.

I received this Keurig machine for Christmas and it has quickly become an appliance that I don't know how I lived without! It is easy to use, offers a great variety of flavors or the option to use your own coffee. It can also make tea and hot chocolate. I cannot compare it to a Tassimo or Senseo, but I LOVE the Keurig.
